2013 Trends: Black And White


Whether it be graphic prints, stark stripes, contrast blocking or grid-like checks- it seems Black and White will play a huge part in the trends of 2013. No longer reserved for basics and formal events, many designers Pre-Fall 2013 shows demonstrated just how bold and fresh black and white can truly be!

Diane von Furstenberg incorporated fine black and white patterns contrasted with black bold lines.


Gucci was all about feminine sophistication, black and white checks with cinched waisted, structured skirts and elbow length gloves.


Milly channelled stylish preppy, giving us gorgeous black and white abstract printed dresses with peter pan collars and standout dresses with black bleeding into stark white skirts.

The red carpet  didn’t fall short of this trend this year with stars like Thembe Seeete,Beyonce, Julianne Moore and  Anele Mododa coming to the party.

One star that stays true to this trend is Kim Kardashian. It dose not matter where this girl is going or what she is doing; she will wear just black or just white. Or both.
